  • Harvey posts top speed of 229.466mph to place him 21st in the overall speed standings
  • Meyer Shank Racing chooses 22 for the primary No. 60 AutoNation / SiriusXM IndyCar in the qualifying order

Indianapolis, Ind. (17 May 2019) – Meyer Shank Racing continued to prepare for this weekend’s qualifying for the Indianapolis 500 with a full day of practice on the traditional “Fast Friday” at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway.

Jack Harvey carded 44 laps in the No. 60 AutoNation / SiriusXM Honda IndyCar as the heat and speeds both escalated ahead of qualifying.

Harvey’s fast lap time of 229.466 mph saw him leading the charts early in the day, with traffic and tows meaning that the time would end up 21st on the charts for the day. But the target is to generate four fast laps on Saturday to lock in a position on the starting grid for the Memorial Day race, and Harvey and his engineer Mike Colliver continued to collaborate with that goal in mind.

“Today was a pretty solid day,” said Harvey. “We got a lot accomplished and focused mostly on qualifying running. I think we were hoping to find a bit more speed by the end of the day, but we are about where we were yesterday. Tomorrow is a big day with qualifying, and we are feeling confident. But as we saw last year, anything can happen so we’re putting all of our focus on the day and getting the best result that we can for Meyer Shank Racing, AutoNation and SiriusXM.”

The No. 60 AutoNation / SiriusXM Honda will roll off 22nd in the qualifying order for tomorrow’s official qualifying run. The No. 60T car will roll off 28th.

Saturday will open with an 8 AM practice session, followed by the traditional four-lap qualifying runs starting at 11:00 AM (TV: NBCSN LIVE). The qualifying order will be determined based on a drawing on Friday evening.

Listen in all weekend long to IndyCar Radio coverage on SiriusXM channel 218 from 11:00-1:00pm ET and will switch to channel 108 from 4:30-6:00pm ET.
