IRMA recently received capacity building grants and has begun the American Racing Memorial Association (ARMA), which will implement a similar historic marker program nationally while fielding interest from abroad to begin an international version to honor Formula 1 greats.
An avid race fan, Dr Eutsler has attended every race at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway since 1965. The 101st running of the Indy 500Ò Presented By: PennGrade Motor Oil was his 100th consecutive race to attend at the Brickyard and the subject of an article on the Indianapolis Motor Speedway website.
He and his wife, Therese, have been volunteers with the 500 Festival since 1988. They have been members of the IPL 500 Festival Parade Band Committee since 1992. Mark has been a co-chair of the parade since 1997. The have also been volunteers with the Indy 500Ò Parade of Bands produced by the Purdue University Department of Bands and Orchestras since 1999. They are both members of the Indianapolis 500 Oldtimers and have been Indy 500Ò and Brickyard 400 Lap Prize Sponsors since 1996.
Additionally, Mark has served on the INDYCAR Ministry’s Indy 500Ò Breakfast Executive Committee and serves on the Citizens’ Speedway Committee, which has, since 1920, raised incentive awards for the Indy 500Ò through Lap Prize Sponsorships. He is also a member of the Boyle Racing Headquarters Foundation board of directors.
Mark is an adjunct professor of business at Indiana Wesleyan University and a facilitator, consultant, and coach with United Methodist Communications in Nashville, Tennessee, and the United Methodist Church Indiana Conference.
In 1993, President Bill Clinton appointed him to the US Selective Service System local board and in 2011, President Barack Obama appointed him to the US Selective Service System District Appeals Board. Governor Robert Orr appointed him to the Hoosier Celebration ’88 Commission, Govenor Joe Kernan appointed him to the Indiana Occupational Safety Standards Board of which he was twice elected chair and Governor Mike Pence appointed to the Serve Indiana Commission of which he currently serves as Vice Chair.
He has received the Distinguished Hoosier Award from Governors Evan Bayh and Mitch Daniels and the Sagamore of the Wabash from Governors Kernan and Pence.
