  Alex Damron

A 2009 graduate of IU with a degree in Journalism and Political Science. His first stop in his career with as Deputy Press Secretary for the Indiana Department of Education from 2010-2011. Next Alex was the Press Secretary for the Indiana Department of Education until 2012.

From 2012-2013 he was the Press Secretary  for Congresswoman Susan Brooks. In 2014 Alex became Congress Woman Brooks Communications Director.

Beginning in 2015 till the present Alex became the Director of Communications for the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. The position includes many activities that currently include a world tour of The Green Flag leading up to the 102nd Indy 500.

For almost 10 years Dave was the vice president of corporate sponsorship for the 500 Festival.

In 2015 he joined the staff at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway Museum Foundation as Director of Development and Partnerships. Since joining the Museum staff many changes have taken place and the Museum is looking forward to growing and making a visit to the Museum more interesting by bringing in new exhibits and new corporate involvement.

A true pioneer in the world of safety. From starting to save himself during a drag race he came up with the parachute. That lead to fire suits, safety belts and helmets. Bill’s attention to detail and testing has save countless hundreds of race drivers from severe injury.
After effectively leaving the motorsports safety world and on a chance meeting with a Indianapolis Colts coach the awareness of football player head injuries caught Bill’s attention. He want to work testing and developement a better helmet with better impact reducing material and far lighter weight. Some pros have used the SG Helmet but Bill has not wanted all the politics of pro football and headed to youth players.
The result of Bill’s success in the world of driver safety he was inducted into the Motor Sports Hall of Fame of America.
